Not Your Grandmothers Rouge

Blush is such an important step when applying makeup. Do you ever feel washed out? A pop of color can really take your skin from lifeless to radiant in seconds. As far as color there are no rules, so have fun experimenting. Our favorite rosey, pinky flush that compliments most skin tones is Beauty Counter Cream Blusher in Hibiscus. For a hot pink sun kissed summer glow Mirabella Girly Cheeky Blush is a nice way to brighten up your skin.

A common question is where to apply blush. It really depends on your face shape. It takes a small amount and the correct placement to make it look natural. If you have an oval face you can apply blush pretty much anywhere. For a round face apply your blush in a C shape from your cheek bone to your temples. A long face just a little on the apples of your cheeks really helps bring attention to the center of your face to break up the length.

Let's talk about cream blush. Most people think of cream blush as something that will slip away your foundation. In reality it creates the most gorgeous natural effect. (The exception is very oily skin) The creamy texture melts into your foundation giving you a long lasting natural glow from within. If you're not into the whole color thing but want a bronzed natural glow, try a nude blush. Our new favorite is Beauty Counter Color Pinch Cream Blusher in Caramel, it's so naturally gorgeous! Here are a few ways to apply cream blush; lightly tap the blusher from tube directly to your cheek then spread with your finger tips, apply to a brush or blend with a brush, or use a beauty blender sponge.

Give it a try and let us know what you think.
